Alana Blanchard and her surfer friends Violate Federal Law
The Issue
Alana Blanchard and her friends Violated the endangered species act several times when the four of them surrounded and molested one sea turtle and grabbed several more on a western regional T.V. show and two world wide web casts, creating a rash of this behavior among her fans and viewers who have been grabbing harassing and otherwise violating this endangered species, all over the Hawaiian Islands and around the globe because of her bad example. Neither she nor her friends have ever been brought to justice for this act that carries a $10,000.00 fine for each person. These turtles, after being treated this way, see people in the future and become so frightened that they can actually put themselves in danger out of fear of coming up for air. Alana and her friends just invited the entire world to violate and harm these beautiful creatures. We have part of the video that Clearly shows the violation by all four of them. We cannot put it on the web because we have been told by the copyright holders (Alana and her production Company) that we could be held accountable for copyright infringment. They have tried to hide the evidence by altering the videos but they were already being broadcast and Webcast for 3 months before they changed them. The damage is already done and now they are daring us to do something about it. We have the video to present as evidence to the DLNR. just not publicly on the web. These surfers think they are above the law. Please show them that this is not acceptable behavior. We don't want to throw the book at them, we just want her and her friends to tell all of her viewers that what they did is against Federal Law and why that Law is in place, and put that PSA at the begining of her weekly webcast each week for three months. She needs to know that if she does not see fit to do this that she can and will be brought up on charges that we will file publicly to either ban her from surfing competition in Hawaii for 2 seasons or pay the $40,000.00 in fines mandated by the law.
