Affordable Textbooks Now!

Affordable Textbooks Now!
The Issue
College students are paying way too much for basic textbooks. California Senate President pro Tem Darrell Steinberg is introducing legislation that will support the creation of open source textbooks for the most common lower division classes. These books will be free online or you will be able to print them for about $20.
But even with this groundbreaking legislation, students won't benefit until professors and instructors adopt these new books. That's why we need your help to urge professors around the state to choose affordable open source books instead of the big-profit publishing versions.
By signing this petition you are telling your legislators to vote yes on these bills for a more affordable higher education for you and your family. At the same time you’re urging professors to choose more affordable textbooks, saving hard working California students and their families more than one billion dollars every year in textbooks costs.
