Act Now to End Elephant Slaughter

The Issue

Behind every piece of ivory is a dead elephant. Any purchases or sales of ivory only fuel the current poaching crisis.

On Friday, June 19th the United States government crushed one ton of ivory. The ivory that was destroyed was comprised of full and carved tusks and hundreds of ivory trinkets that was seized from a single store in Philadelphia in 2009. Crushing ivory ensures that stockpiles of seized ivory will never again be sold.

We must put an end to the senseless killing of wild elephants.

Tell US Fish and Wildlife Service it is the right decision to save wild elephants.

Before coming to Change.org, I worked as a Strategist at Big Duck, which is a communications firm that works exclusively with nonprofits. Prior to that, I ran the Digital Engagement Department at Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA). I graduated from Fordham University and while I’ve lived in New York for over a decade now, I grew up all over the world as an Army brat. When I’m not geeking out over online engagement and social media for nonprofits, I am either taking a yoga class, cooking up something exotic, or running the Central Park loop.
