The old and current climate bill is neither bipartisan, nor, about saving the climate; and must not be tolerated. Instead, Senators Kerry and Lieberman, offered a bill in the past, that would serve the POWER industry and continue our plunge into climate change disaster. Some supported this bill because it included a "cap and trade" system, but, the cap is too permissive. The bill weakened the CLEAN AIR Act; which was unacceptable. It placed a heavy cost on taxpayers through its lavish support for nuclear power, offshore drilling for oil, and the chimera of "clean" coal while doing little to promote alternative, green energy. The old one should be substantially amended, or, a new one that is real be adopted. We need effective climate and energy legislation that will reduce carbon dioxide emissions, promote development of sustainable, alternative sources, and reward conservation.
