The Issue
Prometheus could be or not an "Alien" movie. But it is a horror movie and it has an Alien-like atmosphere. Plus Ridley Scott. Do you really think when people see the film being promoted by these signs or such signs they will expect a PG-13 movie? Remember Alien (1979, Rated R) and long lines of people waiting in front of the theaters.
