Via Rail Canada located at 1150 Station street Vancouver BC has a private company "Municipal Parking Services" managing their lot. They have already been scrutinized on the news here in Vancouver numerous times for their unjust parking practices. Between their poor signage and camera technology Vancouver drivers are receiving $75.00 parking tickets which are not enforceable through ICBC or Vancouver City Hall because they are a privately owned company.

In January 2017 I was parked in one of these metered spots for less than 10 minutes waiting to pick up a passenger from the Bolt Bus.

(I did not vacate my vehicle at any time)

It was night time out and there was no visible signage stating the parking rules of these spots. 1 week later I received a violation in the mail for $75 ordering me to pay it within 10 days. I emailed Municipal Parking Services to dispute this outrageous ticket and immediately they cut the price in half. Well for me that was not good enough. In my mind, if you want to take pictures of peoples cars and mail them tickets you better have VERY CLEAR signage visible even at night stating that they have camera technology and this is not a pick up zone for passengers and you will be ticketed. 

I have hopes that this petition will receive enough public support by the residents of Vancouver and the customers of Via Rail Canada that we can take this to Via Rail Canada and the City of Vancouver to order MPS to have their camera technology meters removed 1150 Station street.
