Return Zozobra To Fiesta Weekend Friday!

Return Zozobra To Fiesta Weekend Friday!
The Issue
We do not agree with some of the changes to the celebration over the years that have taken the event away from the bulk of most of its tradition and making it no longer a joyous “looked forward to” occasion for many of the local populace. We request that the following chain of events take place like they used to in the past.
Ultimately, we want it returned to normal where Zozobra is burned on Friday the same weekend as the celebrations take place and booths are open on the plaza. We want it returned were people are allowed on the open plaza to celebrate the day, evening and night of and after the burning of Zozobra. After all, other on-going major annual events across the nation have not dissected the original design of their own events into separate happenings due to hooliganism; they've met the hooliganism head-on ensuring their traditional practices stay in-place, protected and on-going.
In addition, we request the return of Zozobra’s original sounding style of voice. Over many years his voice has turned into something sounding like a growling monster or singer in a death metal band. This has been witnessed as being comical to some tourists on Ft Marcy field and has also been witnessed as being teased by tourists as sounding orgasmic at moments. We request that you review old recordings of Zozobra’s voice and return it to the spooky, haunting, moaning, ghostly groaning style it once was.
Furthermore, we request that other than subtle accent, color or miniscule design changes like have taken place up to 2013, the clothed designed template of Zozobra (“Old Man” Gloom) not be extremely altered like in 2014 i.e. the complete removal of the garment/gown making him as though he is exposing a bare chest or skin or in any perceived manner detracting from the bulk of the tradition as it has mostly been celebrated.
Lastly, we request that the entertainment at Ft Marcy during the Zozobra event stay traditional to the event keeping the traditional atmosphere. No rock, rap, poetry etc despite many of us liking those styles, however, liking them in more befitting venues or events.
Returning the basic fundamentals and schedule to Zozbra and Fiesta de Santa Fe like they were traditionally for the majority of their existence would ultimately help to enlighten, refresh and inject the special traditional fiesta spirit and magic like it once was to many in the local populace that solely and originally gave it the solid foundation that lead the way to the popularity of what it is today.
