Dear signers of "Councilman Brian Cummins: Stop ALDI move to Steelyard and push to demolish Wirth House"
Please note the following clarifications about the two items listed in this on-line petition.
1) ALDI - store located at 3787 Pearl Road, Cleveland, OH 44109
It was confirmed last week that ALDI has made no announcement or plans to close the Brooklyn Centre ALDI store. ALDI regional management have confirmed that they expect to open a new ALDI store in Steelyard Commons by the end of 2013. My office shall maintain communications with ALDI and do what ever is possible to ensure that the successful store operations located in Brooklyn Centre continues to serve the community.
2) ARRT HOUSE, Inc.
After years of working to find re-use opportunities for the buildings owned by Art House located at 3119 and 3201 Denison Avenue, on September 17, 2012, a Art House Property Task Force Committee recommended to the Art House Board of Directors the demolition of both properties and the development of the land to enhance programming at Art House. The Task Force was formed as a repeated and final effort to assess the conditions of the property and to search for solutions for their re-use or general disposition. The recommendation for demo came after a very lengthy and deliberative process that valued the continued successful operation of Art House's programs and operations above all else.
