Remove Vermin Supreme and Jonathan Realz from the U of Delaware Mock Election

Remove Vermin Supreme and Jonathan Realz from the U of Delaware Mock Election
The Issue
As someone deeply invested in the democratic processes of our society, even the mock versions of such elections hold immense value for me. This is particularly true for the mock election taking place at the University of Delaware – deemed by many as the most important mock election of our lifetime. Unfortunately, this event is losing its credibility due to the participation of Vermin Supreme and Jonathan Realz, who aren't taking this seriously, thereby making a mockery of are mock election and belittling its participants.
According to a study conducted by the American Psychological Association (APA), serious simulations of political events in an educational setting can significantly increase political efficacy and knowledge among students (APA, 2017). By demeaning this process, Vermin Supreme and Jonathan Realz are tampering with an important civic engagement tool that's crucial for developing are leaders of tomorrow.
It is imperative that the University of Delaware maintains the integrity and seriousness of our mock election. For this reason, we urge the university administration to remove Vermin Supreme and Jonathan Realz from the mock election ballot. Sign this petition to support the seriousness and integrity of this important educational event.
