Kukkarahalli Kere (Lake) and its environs are unique. It is home to many birds, attracts migratory birds and is a place of great beauty. The less commercialised it is the better. Musical fountains will bring artificial lighting and crowds at a time of the day the birds roost. It will bring noise and garbage. The lake itself is very sensitive and has a great history. It has inspired people like the Poet Laureate Kuvempu and R K Narayan. It is the duty of all concerned to leave this historical place as unaffected as possible for posterity.
