We feel that MP Kris Hopkins is no longer fit to conduct his duties as representative for the residents of Keighley and Ilkley. He should NOT be standing in the 2017 General Election.

It has become increasingly obvious that his views do not accurately represent those of his constituents. He does not listen to his constituents, he does not hold surgeries, he refuses to meet with people - he is not doing his job. He chooses instead to dictate to us.

He has recently ignored massive local opposition regarding the building of the Aire Valley Incinerator. This development threatens the return of significant air and traffic pollution to the local area, and encroaches further on the beauty of the Aire Valley. It is also sited close to some of the most vulnerable groups in our society, with a nursery and heavily populated areas nearby.

His stance on this issue betrays the residents he represents, and his views are in direct contrast to a letter he wrote to The Guardian newspaper in 2014: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2014/oct/30/wind-farms-minister-accountability

This hypocrisy leads us to believe he can no longer fairly represent us. It is now time for somebody who has residents best interests at heart to be our voice.
