Many families purchase more then 2 PS3's and were able to fully use each console until the recent changes on 11-18-2011 stopped any activated PS3 beyond the first two from being able to download any more from the PSN. This has effectively turned many PS3 consoles into very expensive paper weights!

by George SmallPetition OrganizerLooks like we've gotten some media coverage on a few websites. I did a Google search and found these four sites; GamePolitics, The Escapist, GameRevolution, & Pixelitis all had an article on this petition! It's really great to see the support and media attention so early!

I currently have 3 ps3s in my house. One resides in my living room and two more in a separate game room. Only 2 activations is a bit ridiculous. I am reminded of this problem pretty much every day since I prefer to purchase my games from Sony's store. Very disappointed. Have not purchased a PS4 because of this move.

With only 2 allowed it decreases the amount of friends we can have playing games with us because of our accounts
REPORT THIS COMMENT:
My first PlayStation 3 suffered from the Yellow Light of Death
So I can't deactivate it.
Need I say more?
I have 5 PS3s.
The ability to use my account on multiple PS3s made it an integral part of my home streaming setup. I have several, that can no longer access new content, and if I ever deactivate a console, I still won't be able to replace it.
I want platforms and applications that are DRM-free and also free of Online-Activation restraints. I want platforms and apps to be this way because I believe in Liberty -- and Liberty extended to free software and free documentation and free support for free software. Online-Activation is not free software, and it is not Liberty! Sony, please consider changing your pro-DRM and Online-Activation policies -- your own application security (and that of your consumers) depends on it! As a member of OWASP and the EFF, I sign this petition.
My current PS3 is iffy and I feel that at some point I will have to invest in getting a replacement. As someone who has bought games from PSN and then to find out that if I have to replace the second system at any point and that replacement will not be able to access the content from there, Well I find that to be wrong. Not everybody can just create multiple accounts and re-buy everything they previously had with the first account.
