The football pitches are hugely popular, used almost constantly by groups of all ages from morning until late evening. They must be one of Islington’s most successful youth sports facilities, and the open aspect it provides from Central Street is inviting and engaging to passers by, who often stop to watch the games. The pitches are also surrounded by over a dozen old trees; most will undoubtably be destroyed if this plan is implemented. The East West Nursery School will also be removed.
