Punish all animal abusers/dog fighters to the fullest extent of the law

The Issue

Dog fights often average one to two grueling, bloody, painful hours, often ending in a horrifically painful and agonizing death. The dogs used in these fights are often mauled to the point they are often unrecognizable and these severe injuries often lead to a slow and painful death due to blood loss, shock, dehydration, exhaustion, or infection.

These victims usually suffer ongoing neglect and cruelty during the “training” process and throughout their short lives. They are chained, drugged, deprived of food/water, shelter and medical care. Trainers often viciously kill dogs who refuse to fight or who lose fights. Trainers ruthlessly acquire animals to use as training tools more commonly known as bait dogs. The bait dogs are often attacked and torn apart during training. These dogs are generally non aggressive and often smaller and less able to defend themselves and often times their muzzles are duct tapped shut as to not inflict damaged to the "prized" fighting dog during training and practice. The bait dogs are considered disposable and killed at will with zero regard for their suffering.

The case being referenced below was presided over by Judge Sexton and was said to potentially be the largest dog fighting rescue in Tennessee history and resulted in 65 dogs being seized.

Animal Rescue Corps who assisted in this rescue said "The conditions found on this property are the worst I have ever seen at a dog fighting operation in my 22-year career in animal protection.”

Judge Sexton suspended sentences for these dog fighters. Let him know we will not tolerate any form of animal abuse and we demand all future offenders be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
