Greetings All! Hope the New Year is going well. The Hawaii state legislature convened yesterday, January 20. The first step for any bill to become law is to be heard in committee. If granted a hearing it can be voted upon, and if passed out of committee, will move on for further consideration and amendment. The CCW bill currently assigned to committees, SB95, has been sent to three committees. From past discussions with legislators, whether or not a bill is given a hearing is at the discretion of the individual committee chairperson. If that person opposes the bill, it likely won't get heard, much less voted upon.
Below I've listed the three committees, and all their members email addresses, that have the option to hear SB95. THE FIRST NAME LISTED FOR EACH COMMITTEE IS THE COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON. If we all (and all our friends and neighbors, etc.) ask them to hear SB95, perhaps a miracle will happen and they will actually allow consideration of the bill (not that it would necessarily pass a committee vote). In the past the committees have refused to even hear this (or similar CCW) bills. This is where we are in Hawaii. We law-abiding citizens are all denied a fundamental enumerated right to bear arms guaranteed by the constitutions these legislators swore to uphold, and they won't even hear the bill. At least we can let them know we know what they are doing, and ask them to consider our rights.
