The Cordoba Orchestra in Spain finds itself in a critical situation that puts in danger its integrity and could lead to its final programs.

It’s strange that the orchestra is suffering economically because it is one of the most eclectic and most recognized in Spain. The orchestra offers performances and recordings of symphonic and operatic repertoire, ballet and zarzuela. It breaks the usual molds in playing such styles as flamenco, copla, film sound tracks, contemporary music and rock and roll. Why is it then, that the Orchestra must withstand budgetary cuts of almost 40%?

From the children’s and family concerts to participation in international festivals; from the neighborhood and neighboring town concerts to delightful chamber music, the Córdoba Orchestra gets to the heart of its public. CULTURE IS IMPORTANT AND THE PEOPLE OF CORDOBA STAND WITH THEIR ORCHESTRA.

With your signatures we hope that the town hall of Cordoba and the Andalusian government will dialogue and find a solution to guarantee the orchestra’s continuation in its dedication to culture and education as ambassadors to its city, province, state and country.
