The Jersey City Police Department and Judicial System has stripped a young man of his life and independence, not once, but twice. Kwadir Felton has been charged with six charges of conspiracy. Though there is no strong evidence of his involvement in any drug conspiracy he will be facing 30 years and with a possibility of parole after 15 years. Kwadir was shot in the head by undercover police officers, which lead to a permanent loss of his eyesight. The police officer has not been indicted of any charges because of this. Instead, he has been demoted from Detective to a Blue suit officer. The courts are taking the word of one man as the truth, when his truth could be a fabricated lie to protect his reputation and job. The Jersey City Police Department has not taken any responsibility for crippling a man and wrongfully incarcerating him without irrefutable proof of guilt.
As a community we must stand together to seek justice. As civilians, we understand our actions have consequences, its about time the Jersey City Police Department should pay for their actions as well. This could be any of our brothers, sisters, cousins, friends, and/or neighbors. Please sign this petition to not only help in a attempt to bring charges against the Police officer and/or Department who shot Kwadir, but support for Kwadir in these trying times. Keep him in your prayers.
Jersey City Community
Sincerely,

Too much police brutality.
REPORT THIS COMMENT:
Because innocent until proven guilty is- surprise surprise!- a law, and the fact that they can't prove he had a gun on him makes this ruling awful and unconstitutional.
Because police get away with a lot and not all black young man are drug dealers.
The injustice in ridiculous. Institutional racism is blatant in this country and if it isn't obvious after cases like this and the Trayvon Martin case, then I have no hope for this nation.
The poor guy got shot and blinded for something he didn't do. The hell is that fair?
For years our youth and elders have been put in harms way by officer Thomas and his department which have always been swept under the rug and we can't allow this harshb act by ppl sworn tonorotect us go unpunished!!
