Do not close the public toilets in ore village and Hastings town center

Do not close the public toilets in ore village and Hastings town center

The Issue

Hastings Borough Council are considering closing the public toilets in Hastings town centre and in Ore village. If this comes to fruition the closure will inconvenience the elderly, those with children and people with particular medical needs.

The council proposes that there are other facilities available nearby. This is clearly incorrect for Ore village where no other obvious  toilets exist.

As to Hastings town centre it would seem that the council is assuming that the public can use toilets owned by private concerns such as MacDonalds or Debenhams - why would these companies wish to subsidise HBC without suitable recompense

We urge HBC not to proceed with these proposals
