It's been over a year since the Recreation Center at Mosswood Park burned down, and there still no replacement.

The City of Oakland has said that the first step to replacing the Rec center would be installing temporary buildings. But, there is no sign of these buildings. In fact, as of early January, there wasn't even a building permit.

The Rec center provided critical resources to the community, including after-school programs, summer camps and much more.

It's time for the City Council and the Parks and Recreation Department to prioritize getting the temporary buildings up and running.
