We apply to you, as we consider you to be a fair and compassionate leader and because we have no alternative. A horrible injustice dominates in your country and all our efforts to receive any feedback are being ignored for many years. Reputation of America depends on your decision.  

The letter addresses the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and its biased, cynical and unfair attitude to great and talented persons.

During these years we have concluded that studios, producers and distributors influence the Academy voting process. The Academy also has its favorites and acquaintances, connections and nationality also influence the voting. These are just a few reasons which rather often make the voting results scandalous!  

Looking back, we cannot find the reason for the fact that the great persons like Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick, Ennio Morricone, Peter O’Toole, Ridley Scott and many other people who made history did not win an Oscar for any of their works, while a 20-year-old actress, Jennifer Lawrence received the award. We are acquainted with her performing and with all due respect to her, we totally disagree with her awards. And the number of such examples has increased. We will never understand why the Academy preferred the film "Kramer vs. Kramer" over the great film "Apocalypse Now" or the film "Ordinary People” over the film “Raging Bull". After all, these outsider films are included in the US National Register today. We also cannot understand how the Academy could vote for the film "Shakespeare in Love". We consider that the Academy cynically and unfairly treats the greatest film director of all times, Martin Scorsese and his greatest works. Don’t you anticipate that the primary and the most prestigious award will just lose its value? 

But all this is nothing in comparison to the insult inflicted by the Academy on one of the best actors of all time, Leonardo DiCaprio. After what happened at the ceremony in 2014, the Academy finally lost credibility. Leonardo was not only deprived of the well-deserved award once again but he was also disrespectfully treated during the ceremony. He has never been treated the same way in any country, save for America! And now people who are very far from cinematography have a reason to criticize great people like Leonardo DiCaprio. So what is the reason for such attitude towards this great person? Maybe this is due to the current political situation in the world and the fact that he is half Russian? We consider that legendary people remained in the shade at the 2014 ceremony, while mainly young popular actors and actresses were in the focus of attention. We recommend that you watch the ceremony and become convinced of that. 3rd of March was a day of mourning for people, millions of people were in tears, it was an insult for the entire world. For a while, this event obscured the events in Ukraine. And if everybody thinks about how to punish Russia, why does not anybody think how to punish the Academy?   

If you are not acquainted with the creative works of Leonardo DiCaprio, please become acquainted with his brilliant films. Please pay particular attention to his great role in the film "What’s eating Gilbert Grape" and you will be convinced that this is the best-performed role in the history of cinematography and you will also make sure that if an Oscar was not awarded to Leonardo for this role, then nobody deserves this award! With all due respect to his rivals, we consider that this is cruelty and disrespect to the child labour on the part of the Academy! We recommend you to watch all films of Leonardo DiCaprio again and pay particular attention to the films: “The Aviator”, “Total Eclipse", "The Wolf of the Wall Street", “The Departed", “Django", “J. Edgar". Please explain us, why such a great actor does not have an Oscar yet? After all, he deserves more Oscars than anybody throughout the history! Leonardo is the only actor who does not act in low quality projects. He is the face of America, we love him and request to respect him! He makes us acquainted with art, cinematography, history, the great film directors. He teaches us everything. Film directors always give the leading roles to Leonardo, since his childhood. They call him the best actor of his generation and with all due respect to other actors of his age, we are sure that they agree with this. We respect Matthew McConaughey, but we consider that certain themes have won at the ceremonies recently and this is very unfair! 

The role of Leonardo DiCaprio in the film "The Wolf of the Wall Street" is just fantastic! and we will remember it all our life! All of his roles are brilliant, but he worked on this role for 7 years! He showed us what others would never dare to show. He taught us a lot of things. Leonardo is a brilliant and a very brave person.   

We request to indemnify him for damage and more importantly, we insist on unbiased evaluation of all of his brilliant roles in the future! We request that he is awarded an Oscar which he has deserved long ago!

We also request to award him a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
