Dear Governor Cuomo,

Health Care Workers (HCW) are trying to save the lives of mothers and their babies in this time of Coronavirus.  We implore you to reconsider your requirement allowing an additional partner, WITH NO EMERGENT MEDICAL NEED, onto our Labor Floors. Doing so will use up desperately needed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) already being rationed to actual health care workers. Until adequate PPE is assured, the safety of the specialized health care workers saving mothers and babies lives remains in the best interest of ALL New Yorkers and must guide your decisions.

Putting HEALTH CARE WORKERS at increased risk, puts EVERY MOTHER AND BABY at increased risk. This is not about today, but tomorrow and the next day.  

We implore you to let the reality of the current situation, not emotion, rule the day.  Allow MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS to make MEDICAL decisions. PLEASE REVERSE your decision REQUIRING hospitals to allow non-medically-necessary persons onto Labor Floors in New York.  We remain eager to have partners return at the earliest, safest moment.
