The Murray Bridge Swimming Centre is a fabulous facility with great staff in the Rural City Of Murray Bridge, population approx 20,000 and run by the Council.

At present the facility is only open for ONLY 5 MONTHS per year! Closed for 7??

The 50 metre pool is heated to 27 degrees and is a facility catering for families, people with disabilities, those needing rehab, swimming for fitness and general well being.  For the retired population over 65 years it is FREE to swim.

We are asking for a change to occur and for the MB Swimming Centre to be open for at least 8 to 12 months to the public.  The cooler months could see a reduced opening time e.g. 6.30 am to 10 am which would suit people who swim prior to work, swim club members and members of the public.

There are NO other facilities for people to swim in Murray Bridge (other than the river) at this time.

Travelling to Mount Barker to swim is not viable for most people (those who work in Murray Bridge or pensioners) during the cooler months and its time Murray Bridge steps up with this amazing facility and keeps it open!
