We are DC residents, business owners, workers, students, visitors, and tourists. We love DC. We want DC to safely re-open and, since a Phase 1 re-opening is scheduled for May 29, it is even more important that we #ReOpenDC in the safest way possible! We know that the most current scientific evidence shows that if we all stayed at home, stayed 6 feet apart, and covered our faces when we have to go outside, we would stop the spread of COVID-19. More than 100,000 people in the US have died including several hundred so far in DC alone. We must slow the infection rate. We must wear face coverings whenever we go out.

We know that we CAN slow the spread of COVID-19, and we CAN re-open our businesses, schools, and houses of worship safely. We know from many other countries that just 2 months of staying home, staying apart, and covering our faces whenever we go out in public, will enable us to safely #ReOpenDC. But to accomplish reopening safely in this dense urban setting, we need more than just recommendations, we need mandates.

We urge Mayor Bowser to issue (and enforce) an EXECUTIVE ORDER requiring everyone in DC to:
 
COVER YOUR FACE whenever you go outside. No exceptions, even while exercising.

STAY APART at least 6 feet whenever you go outside.  We also urge the Mayor to continue to enforce social distancing guidelines.

STAY HOME whenever possible except for essential needs such as food or medicine or exercise (or if you are an essential worker).

If everyone in DC complies with these 3 common-sense measures now, students would be back in school in the Fall and businesses would re-open fully even sooner because we will have stopped the spread of coronavirus in our Nation's Capital. We can be an example for all American cities. 

These 3 common-sense measures would last for only 2 months (#Just2Months), and this would allow us to #ReOpenDC for the long-term safely.  We know that covering our faces protects everyone, if everyone covers their face. 

As DC residents, business owners, workers, students, and visitors, we urge Mayor Bowser to issue an Executive Order immediately so we can stop the spread of COVID-19, save lives, and #ReOpenDC.

We support mandatory #Masks4All because we love DC and because we want to #ReopenDC -- JOIN US!
