The Issue

Overview of the Case: Larry Riegel was last seen on December 25, 2009. He had made plans to attend a family gathering but never arrived. His family became increasingly concerned after failing to hear from him, and they officially reported him missing on January 6, 2010.

There are several suspicious elements surrounding his disappearance. His girlfriend, Ladena Mann, claimed that Larry assaulted her the night he went missing. However, there were no witnesses or physical evidence to back up this claim. Additionally, Mann continued using Larry’s EBT benefits card for weeks after his disappearance, leading to welfare fraud charges, which were eventually dropped without further investigation into her involvement in Larry's disappearance. She also returned his car, claiming that he "wouldn’t need it anymore," an alarming statement that was not adequately followed up.

Phone records revealed no activity from Larry after Christmas Day, contradicting Mann's claim that he had contacted people after he disappeared. A neighbor reported seeing two men removing items from Larry’s house shortly after his disappearance, a critical lead that was not pursued by authorities.

Despite these concerning details, the investigation has stalled, and Larry’s family is left without answers.

Request for a Grand Jury: We are calling for a grand jury investigation into Larry Riegel's disappearance. A grand jury would have the authority to subpoena witnesses, compel testimony, and investigate all the suspicious circumstances surrounding this case, including Mann’s actions and the failure of the original investigation to fully explore critical leads.

Larry Riegel’s family deserves justice and closure, and a grand jury investigation is essential to ensure that this case receives the attention and accountability it deserves. We urge you to sign this petition and help us push for the reopening of this case.
