PETITION TEXT:

Target: Congressman Frank Pallone
Sponsored by:  Jackelyn Gaisie

Army Spc. Dominic Meyer was recently home on leave from Iraq. He was suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and had essentially become addicted to adrenaline. While on leave he was injured by a hit-and-run driver as he was walking near his late father's home who had passed away shortly before he was deployed. In the confusion of having him formally transferred back to Ft. Hood for treatment he was designated AWOL.  During this time, Spc. Meyer was pulled over for street racing and weapons were found during a search of his truck.  He is being held on $100,000 bail, no 10 percent option, instead of being in a hospital receiving treatment. Is this how we show our support for our troops? Is this how we say "Thank you" for serving our country?  Spc. Meyer wrote in a letter to his mother that, ""They trained me that without my weapon I am nothing. We had to recite it like a prayer every night in Basic...I only did what the government trained me to and now the same government wants to lock me up for it."

Please show your support for our troops, not just when they are overseas, but also when they come home.
