It’s time for our Pittsburgh Steelers to stand up against anti-gay bullying and homophobia in sports. Recent events (both positive and negative) in sports have made it obvious that homophobic attitudes are no longer acceptable. Between Kobe Bryant's homophobic slurs and then apology and Suns' CEO Rick Welts' coming out, the time is right for change.

Please sign this petition to get the Pittsburgh Steelers to make an "It Gets Better" video in support of LGBTQ youth. This video series, started by Dan Savage, features adults explaining that life gets better when one grows up. The more than 10,000 "It Gets Better" videos have made an enormous difference in the lives of so many gay youth, and has helped shine a bright light on and hopefully help put an end to the tragic epidemic of suicide among gay teens.

In an unprecedented move, the San Francisco Giants have released their own It Gets Better video, and supporters of LGBT rights from coast to coast, border to border and beyond have begun writing to their teams asking them to follow suit. (UPDATE: Just a few days ago, the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox announced they are going to make It Gets Better videos as well!)

This petition is for all fans, home or away, of our Pittsburgh Steelers, imploring the black and gold to stand up for what's right, and let it ring loud and clear from Heinz Field across our country and around the world that "It Gets Better"! By signing you are encouraging the Steelers to be the first football team to shed the stereotypes and take a strong positive stand!
