You must have screensaver on your computer.  They solve no purpose and waste a lot of energy. Ditch it! Make sure your monitor shuts off in five minutes of inactivity. More details are available at

You can do several other things including hibernating your computer, or putting it on stand by. Choose a practical power scheme on your computer and save some energy and lots of carbon.
