Raise or eliminate the data usage cap
Raise or eliminate the data usage cap
The Issue
In 2008 when Comcast implemented the 250GB data cap, it was perfectly reasonable. It was difficult for the "average" user to reach that limit. Now in 2012, with the popularity of data intensive applications such as Comcast's own streaming video, Hulu, cloud storage, and digital entertainment sources such as Netflix, iTunes and Amazon.com, the 250GB is no longer reasonable for many users. This is particularly true for "power" users that are willing to invest in "Extreme" tiers of service. In 2008 Comcast promised to re-evaluate the cap in the future as needed. The future is here. Verizon's FiOS has no data usage cap, Comcast should keep up with the times and follow suit.
