Help Fix Ev Tremblay Park!

Did you know: in 2013 the City’s master plan for Little Italy had the apartments on Beech at Champagne slated to turn into a park.

Then in 2018, the city amended the plan to let the lot be used for a six story building… WITHOUT ANY PUBLIC CONSULTATION!

• “Mid-rise predominantly residential development up to a height of six storeys, with a built form sympathetic to the surrounding low profile residential buildings, may be permitted on the property facing Beech Street between Champagne Avenue and Loretta Avenue.”
  Amendment #214, July 17, 2018

But at the same time, Ev Tremblay is still flagged for expansion in the neighbourhood master plan:

• “Ev Tremblay Park will be enhanced and expanded through design and extensive programming to service the existing and new residents and families.”

How can the city get away with changing zoning without consulting people who live in the neighbourhood??

How exactly does the city expect to expand Ev Tremblay if they re-zone the only land the park can expand into??

Our neighbourhood is filling up with condo towers. We need more green space.

The city needs to expand Ev Tremblay Park like they promised!

This 2013 plan is the one our neighbourhood deserves.
