My partner and I are legally married in Iowa, but thanks to doma, it is not recognized on a federal level. My partner doesn't have a job right now, and it cost a fortune for insurance that doesn't even pay anything until she hits a $4000.00 deductible. If Obama really wants to make sure every one is insured, this would go a long way in helping lots more people get insured.
