Urge Texas Lottery Commission to Yank Elephant Ad!
Urge Texas Lottery Commission to Yank Elephant Ad!
The Issue
The Texas Lottery Commission is running a commercial featuring a trained elephant.
Elephants used in the entertainment industry are traumatized when they are taken from their mothers as babies, and they are then trained through domination, fear, and punishment.
Trainers sink bullhooks-sharp, steel-tipped devices resembling fireplace pokers that inflict pain on elephants and puncture the skin-into the most sensitive parts of an elephant's body in order to force the animals to perform. But even though PETA made it clear that elephants used for entertainment are tormented and denied everything that's natural and important to them, Texas Lottery Commission officials refused to pull the ad or promise not to use exotic animals in future ads.
Please take just a few seconds to use this form to send a message to the Texas Lottery Commission asking officials to pull the commercial. Urge them never to feature exotic animals in ads or promotions again.
Thank you for all that you do to help animals!
