I wish to have the laws that apply to humans harming humans to be applied to animal cruelty. If someone takes the life of their pet or someone else's in cold blood, it should be considered 1st degree murder. Then depending on nature of the animal abuse, manslughter and so forth. Why should the animal abusers get slap on wrist or little jail time, etc. This isn't fair and things need to change.

Animals have a soul and right to life. Human beings time and time again have placed little or no value on a pet's life or any other animal. I applaude the people who came up with the Animal Bill of Rights but I feel they needed to explain more on punishment for animal abuse. This is why this petition address' that. It should be the same for a human.

I hope that the law makers choose to support this cause and do more to protect the animals in our country from people who have no conscience.
