Tell Whole Foods to Stop Selling Endangered Fish

Tell Whole Foods to Stop Selling Endangered Fish
The Issue
Whole Foods recently partnered with the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Blue Ocean Institute to implement a system that rates its seafood's sustainability. Green dots indicate that the species is plentiful and caught in an eco-friendly way, yellow dots indicate that there are some problems with either abundance or methods, and red means that the fish is not plentiful or is caught through environmentally degrading fishing practices.
Despite its supposed commitment to environmental stewardship, Whole Foods still sells red-rated species like Chilean sea bass, red snapper, and yellow fin tuna. While the store says it will phase these offerings out by Earth Day 2013, this is not good enough. These species are threatened now--they shouldn't have to wait almost three years for protection.
Sign our petition, and tell Whole Foods that it needs to immediately stop stelling red-rated fish.
