UNITED STATES
In 2007 U.S. Census statistics show that 38 million people were living below poverty level in the United States. 

THE DEVELOPING WORLD
The World Bank's statistics show that in 2005, 1.4 billion people in the developing world (one in four) were living on less than $1.25 a day. 

THE WHOLE WORLD
The World Health Organization tells us that approximately 1.2 billion people in the world live in extreme poverty (less than one dollar per day).

According to UNICEF, every 3.6 seconds one person dies of starvation. Usually it is a child under the age of 5.  All these statistics tell us that something needs to be done NOW to fight global poverty.  We have the power to make a difference. United we can call on the International community to come together to fight for an end to global poverty.
