No "no fly zone" in Lybia
Greetings,
Dear delegates of the Security Council of the United Nations:
Any foreign military intervention in Libya lead to an escalation of the conflict, and possibly more bloodshed, as well as denying the right of freedom for their people. Since it is not possible to enforce a so-called "no-fly zone" without military intervention, even with attacks from the air, we urge that you remove support to this measure.. Efforts should be directed to defende a ceasefire and dialogue between the warring parties to seek a peaceful solution.
More generally, we should consider the adoption of international standards prohibiting any lethal use of air power in armed conflict, and therefore the manufacture and sale of armed aircraft and helicopters. The case of Libya is not an isolated way, and now we also find such use in conflicts such as Afghanistan, which should not be excluded from the prohibition in this regard.
