ChromoLogic: Stop wasting millions of tax-dollars on fraudulent science
The Issue
Even if it's different strains of the same species, previous reseach shows that animals of different species react differently to radiation. This is why NASA dropped their radiation tests. Therefore, we demand that ChromoLogic drop all its wasteful animal testing and stop wasting millions of tax-dollars.
Recently, a "whistle-blower" leaked information of tests that are happening right now! Stop Animal Exploitation NOW! (SAEN) was informed that The Dept of Health and Human Services is paying $8 million to Pasadena based company, ChromoLogic, to expose 32 Rhesus monkeys to lethal doses of radiation in order to potentially develop a device to measure whole body radiation. An instrument which may not even be developed and has, as yet, no application. ChromoLogic has sub contracted an unknown Canadian animal experiment facility to actually do the experiments which started Monday, December 5, 2011. Canada has NO legally binding regulations governing the use of animals in experiments.
Furthermore, we demand that ChromoLogic agrees to stop animal testing indefinitely and send a statement promising to use alternative humane research methods to Stop Animal Exploitation Now!
As a licensed physician and surgeon, I am unalterably opposed to lethal
radiation "experiments" involving innocent rhesus monkeys as subjects.
Total body irradiation is inhumane, and unlikely to yield any scientifically
useful information that is not already available in Government databases.
I, therefore, oppose the "experiments" proposed by Chromologic, and
feel that they should be stopped before they even begin.
