Call on the San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority to Restore Bay Habitat for Birds

Call on the San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority to Restore Bay Habitat for Birds
The Issue
Bay Area birds urgently need you. Their populations are dwindling as a result of human activity, but we can help them recover if we act now.
The Bay provides food and a safe haven for birds to nest, mate, and feed. But development and agriculture have destroyed 90% of their original wetland habitat. Pollution and climate change continue to threaten what's left.
In less than 60 days, the San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority will vote on a decision that could determine the fate of these Birds. This agency is considering placing a measure on the November 2014 ballot in all nine Bay Area counties, that if passed would help us double existing San Francisco Bay bird habitat. But for any of this to happen, the Authority needs to know that Bay Area residents support this effort.
More than 50 years ago, the three women who founded Save The Bay stopped the destruction of our precious Bay and saved the shoreline habitat we and these birds enjoy today. But there’s more work to be done. In order to ensure these birds are around for future generations, we need to expand their habitat significantly.
31,000 acres of shoreline are waiting to be restored. All that's missing is local funding. The Bay Restoration Authority has the power to give voters the chance to do the right thing for the Bay and its majestic birds.
Ask the Restoration Authority to put a measure on the ballot that will fund San Francisco Bay restoration.
