1. Because Dabolim is Goa's certified Civilian Airport existing and operating as one since before 1961.

2 Because the Navy was requested by the Indian Military govt to be the caretaker of the airport until such time as a civilian govt could take over, and the airport was subsequently used by the Indian Navy as a base during the Indo-China war of 1962, but failed to hand it over to Goa's Civilian Authorities after that and instead starting appropriating it and moving INS HANSA from Coimbatore to Dabolim in 1964 to establish a de-facto Naval base without authorisation.

3. Because the Navy has plans to digest this natural equidistant centrally located airport of GOA for it's defence purposes and instead want the Civilian Airport shifted to MOPA on the Northernmost tip on Goa-Maharashtra border, a place which is the Western Ghats ecologycal bio-diversity hot-spot and likely to be devastated if developed as an International Airport.

4. Because this MOPA project is a back-door merger of GOA into Maharashtra which merger was scuttled by GOANS in 1967 in the one of it's kind OPINION POLL in the history of INDIA.

5. Because GOANS are against this MOPA Project and want the Navy to shift lock stock and barrel from Dabolim so that Dabolim Airport can be expanded to be the one of the best International Airports in the World.

6. Because MOPA is a MEGA-LAND-SCAM engineered by REAL-ESTATE VESTED INTERESTS and politicians where huge chunks of properties have been purchased at throw-away prices.
