Shri Narendra Modi: Please support clean transparent politics
Shri Narendra Modi: Please support clean transparent politics
The Issue
Dear Narendra Modi ji,
We have seen in Delhi assembly election that people of India want clean transparent politics. It is disheartening that BJP was able to win clear majority. However, I count this as a fault of BJP itself for not being transparent enought to woo supporter of clean politics.[2],[3]
We see a lot of overlap between your supporters and Aam Aadmi Party[1]. If AAP comes to the foray of national elections, it will eat some of your votes and possibly ruin your mission 272+.
Fortunately this problem has a solution. The solution is your support for clean transparent politics. Please show the nation that your anti-corruption stand is just not limited to speeches by adopting the following practices:
1. No candidates with criminal case of murder, rape or similar serious nature. Voluntary disqualification of such sitting MLA's and MP's.
2. Transparency in candidate selection.
3. Transparency in funding. If BJP cannot make past funding sources sources public, please make it public on ongoing basis.
4 . Promise for the following laws at center and immediate enactment in ruling states:
4(a). Jan Lokpal bill (CBI independence, lower beaurocracy under lokayukta, citizen charter, State lokayukta)[4]
4(b). Decentralization, participatory governence and answerability of beaurocracy to the local governence units. AAP calls it swaraj.[5]
4(c). Right to reject. I believe you already support it. [7]
4(d). Electoral reforms. Today it is very difficult for small political parties to make an impact we neet reforms that end the monopoly of major political parties. [6]
4(e). Judicial (more fast track courts, more approachable and affordable courts and judicial accountability) [8]
4(f). Police (SC directives 2007) reforms.[9]
Of course, debates on technicalities of these issues is welcome. But there should be no reason to oppose these on ideological basis.
