We humbly request you not to change the UPSC Civil Services Examination plan, scheme, syllabi, assessment and/or eligibility criteria.
The Issue
The reforms instituted by UPSC in the Civil Services Examination beginning in 2011 are fair, equitable and progressive. The reforms were arrived at after painstaking research and consultation with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
Those opposing the reforms do not truly represent the opinion or interests of all the aspirants, general public and/or other stakeholders.
It will not be in the interest of policy continuity or the independence and credibility of a constitutional body like the Union Public Service Commission to introduce abrupt and arbitrary changes to the examination under pressure from disgruntled elements who are resorting to coercive methods of questionable morality and intent.
It is very important here to also emphasise that most of the aspirants are toiling hard to pass the examination. These candidates sincerely believe that hard work and determination will help them overcome any obstacle.
It will be very unfair and unjust to modify the examination in any manner at this stage of the examination calendar because the aspirants have been working on a study plan in accordance with the declared notification.
