The Issue

More than 50 million women have been systematically exterminated from India’s population through female feticide, infanticide, starvation of little girls, dowry related murders and “honor” killings. This is one of the worst genocides in human history and it is silent and ongoing. The government of India and international human rights organizations must take immediate and effective action as per the R2P (Responsibility to Protect) UN directives on genocides, and stop this immediately. It was founded by author and gender activist, Rita Banerji, in 2006. The campaign does not raise funds and runs on volunteer effort. More than 50 million women have been systematically exterminated from India’s population in three generations, through the gender-specific infliction of violence in various forms, such as female feticide through forced abortions, female infanticides, dowry murders, and honor killings.
