That Northumbria Police & Crime Commissioner PCC, Vera Baird QC, order an immediate full, thorough and independent review of the Northumbria police’s investigation of the attempted murder of Martin McGartland . This review should; a) Fully address continuing serious allegations of corruption, wrongdoing, incompetence and cover-up in Northumbria Police’s handling of the case, b) Establish whether any evidential opportunities were missed and or if new evidential opportunities could now be pursued, c) Establish whether there has been political interference and or pressure brought to bear on Northumbria Police by either HMG and/or the Security Service (MI5), d) Establish whether Northumbria Police have wilfully covered-up IRA involvement in the attempted murder of Martin McGartland and whether Northumbria Police are continuing to protect the terrorist involved.
