Urge the Federal Government to Address Growing Crisis in AIDS Drug Assistance Program Funding

The Issue

According to Housingworks.org, the U.S. AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) is in a financial crisis, with perhaps more than 2,000 people sitting on waiting lists, waiting to receive life-saving HIV/AIDS medications.

The Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA) recommended that President Obama and Congress provide $126 million in emergency funds to eliminate the waitlists. Yet so far, there's been nothing but inaction.

As the White House gets ready to launch a National Strategy to address HIV/AIDS, it's imperative that the White House and Congress hear about the necessity to fund ADAP. Send an email now, recommending $126 million in emergency funding for AIDS Drug Assistance Programs to eliminate wait lists.
