Tell your Rep: Keep domestic discretionary spending intact and continue to invest wisely in children
The Issue
It's an inside-the-Beltway phrase - "discretionary funding," but today, it means the world to Sam. This week, Congress is set to vote on the President's FY2010 budget. The funding that will provide Sam and many other young children the opportunity to enter school ready to thrive and succeed is on the table.
Click here to tell Congress: Protect current discretionary funding levels to ensure important investments for children stay in the budget!
As currently written, the President's budget provides discretionary funding levels that make young children a priority. We know tough choices must be made this year to address the recession, but not at the expense of our youngest and most vulnerable citizens.
Key investments made now in early education prepare children for school, work, and life and advance our country's current and future economic growth.
Thank you.
