This costly program would make it difficult to keep and transport even horses, and would make small-scale farming prohibitively expensive. National Animal ID is a gift to the factory farming industry, because it would effectively destroy competition from small livestock operations. The USDA will be accepting comments until March 16, 2009.

Please take the time to write a personalized version of the letter if you can, because duplicates are usually ignored - be heard! Ten unique letters are worth more than a thousand identical letters :)
