Tell Starbucks: Commit to a 100% Cage-Free Egg Policy

Tell Starbucks: Commit to a 100% Cage-Free Egg Policy

The Issue

Starbucks prides itself on its social responsibility. They've made attempts to be a greener company, focusing on saving water and recycling. They even have vegan options. But the coffee giant has still not made an important commitment to animal welfare by switching to a 100% cage-free egg policy.

In the United States, millions of hens are currently kept in battery cages, cages so small they do not have room to spread their wings. They are kept in filthy conditions, and do not receive veterinary care. Cage-free hens are able to walk around, and they have two to three times the amount of space as those kept in cages.

Cage-free facilities not only improve the lives of hens, but also reduce public health risks. Cage-free facilities have significantly lower rates of salmonella than cage facilities do.

Sign the petition to urge Starbucks to adopt a 100% cage-free egg policy.
