Diners Club International, which is owned by Discover Financial Services, sponsors dozens of cruel bullfights. The popularity of bullfighting has been waning in recent years, and fewer people are showing up to watch the brutality. But Discover's sponsorship is helping keep the cruelty in business.

When SHARK (SHowing Animals Respect and Kindness) contacted Discover about supporting this bloodsport, the company responded that "The banks that issue credit cards on the Diners Club International network are independently operated and make sponsorship decisions that reflect the culture, traditions and history that are relevant to the consumers in their countries or regions."

It's time that people and companies stop accepting animal cruelty as cultural tradition. Discover Financial Services can choose not to condone the sponsorship of cruelty, but instead they're making excuses. Tell Discover to take a stand against bullfighting.
