The Issue

President Obama has led the process to bring the Iraq war to a responsible end, placing responsibility for Iraqi security in the hands of Iraqis. Our combat troops — whose valor, courage, and self-sacrifice made possible the progress we’ve made — came home from Iraq by the end of 2011.

This is a promise kept, and the President is committed to continuing to refocus our security priorities on the most serious threats we face—including fighting al-Qaeda in Afghanistan and its affiliates around the world.

He lives in Oakland with his wife and a pretty awesome puppy.
