Shrewsbury & Telford NHS Trust Chief Executive Peter Herring has suggested that in order to balance the books of the NHS Trust, either Shrewsbury or Telford could lose full A&E operations. We believe that BOTH hospitals need to retain full, 24 hour A&E service for the benefit of the communities they serve. RSH not only covers Shrewsbury and Rural Shropshire but also parts of Mid Wales and PRH covers East Shropshire and Telford - a town with an ever expanding population.

It is imperative for the young, growing mostly urban population of Telford & Wrekin that full A&E services are retained at the Princess Royal Hosptial.
