On February 28, 2013, SHISEIDO Co., Ltd.—Japan's largest cosmetic company has announced that they decided to abolish the animal tests that the company had been conducting for a long time. There will be no more animal-testing in Japan by SHISEIDO or their outsourcings after April this year. We highly appreciate the company's recent decision.

Soon after the announcement, however, NIKKEI—Japanese news media website reported that SHISEIDO will continue to sell its products in China, where cosmetic animal testing is required by law.

Meanwhile, Pangea Organics has decided not to sell its all products in China in order to fight against animal testing. As a result, the company has received "Courage in Commerce Award" by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)—the world's largest animal rights organization, and it was listed in the cruelty-free cosmetic company list.

In contrast, SHISEIDO has not been approved in that list yet. So, we have concluded that SHISEIDO is not the company that does not test on animals but instead a company that still does test on animals. Therefore, we disagree with the decision SHISEIDO made and it is absolutely unacceptable.

Now, we strongly demand that SHISEIDO temporarily stops selling its products in China so that we, caring consumers all over the world, can trust the company and recommend its products.
